Kanungu, Monday 29th September 2025 – Believers in Kanungu Town are still rejoicing after a powerful Mega Sunday Service that took place yesterday, Sunday 28th September 2025, at Mercy House Ministries.
The service was graced by the visitation of Apostle Dr. Gilbert Birungi, the Father of Mercy House Ministries, who delivered a life-changing message on “The Importance of a Branch.” Drawing from John 15:5, he reminded the congregation: “I am the vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
Dr. Birungi emphasized that just as a mango branch cannot attach itself to an orange tree, every believer must remain connected to their true source in Christ to live a fruitful life.
The service was marked by fervent prayers, healing testimonies, deliverance, and spiritual awakening. At the altar call, more than 30 people gave their lives to Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
The congregation was also blessed by the presence of Bishop Sarah Kyomuhendo, Bishop of Kanungu Pastors, who gave her personal testimony and thanked God for Apostle Dr. Gilbert Birungi’s ministry. She praised him as a father to many, a humble servant of God, and a blessing not only to Uganda but also to nations.
Members of Mercy House Ministries and the Kanungu community expressed heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Birungi for the love and support he has continuously shown, including:
Educating children
Supporting churches and pastors
Mentoring and training leaders in Kanungu
Uplifting the suffering and abandoned
Creating employment through Mercy Projects
Although the people of Kanungu are still yearning for more of God, they were warmly invited to the upcoming Anniversary Celebrations in Kampala from 8th – 12th October 2025, where they will continue to receive teachings and be spiritually refreshed.
Yesterday’s Mega Sunday left Kanungu town spiritually uplifted and in celebration of God’s mighty work.
